Mark Doze

Bryce Krause Mark Doze Busrztyn.
Mark "Doze" Busrztyn was born and raised in San Diego, California and started training in traditional boxing when he was 14 years old. When he was 18 he moved to Huntington Beach, CA and began training kick boxing classes with "Razor" Rob McCullough. "I always saw these crazy guys rolling around on the floor and the sound of moaning, groaning and tapping all the time. I was very curious about what exactly they were doing down there!", says Mark. "I did a few Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes and really liked the concept and how tough physically it was." After moving to the Encinitas, CA area Mark met Master Nelson Monteiro - one of Gracie Barra's most prestigious jiu jitsu Black Belts - and started his training under him. "Master Nelson Monteiro and Professor Rafael Ramos began pushing me and showing me just how far I could go in the world of submission grappling. I FELL IN LOVE and from that point on I was all about the ground!"

Now a Gracie Barra purple belt, "Doze" has been fighting at a high level of competition since March of 2009 having competed in the North American ADCC Trials, the Pan American Games, the Gracie Barra Classic and multiple Grappling-X events. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is now his full time love! "I am now a Gracie Barra Encinitas school Assistant Instructor for Master Nelson Monteiro and help coach fellow fighters there. The sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has cleaned up my life from refining the way I eat and train, to removing drugs and alcohol, even altering my day to day way of thinking and reactions to things that happen. I see my life through the technique of Jiu Jitsu and now I am devoted to becoming the best submission grappler, athlete, and mentor I can be.
